Sure, it is an introductory book, but the book could be easily summarized in less than 10 pages. This would all be acceptable if the book didn't cost so much. This is a 'how to' book for scientific visualization. It is treated as a subject in its own right. SciViz has not been covered in an approachable form (other than in compilations of research papers) since Brodlie's seminal work in 1992.
