Obear|I found this book to be an easy read, good for people new to cartography or an old hand. While it does not go into very technical directions (html, java script, etc) it covers all the basics. I think that had it been more oriented to the >how to< phase it would be out of date and of no use to| ||"If you have interests in web maps but feel lost in a push-pin forest, this book will chart a course for you.
